Day Eleven
On day eleven, we drove back to the park… when will the cramping stop!? We went and saw mammoth springs. That was super cool. The water formed into rock, and created pools! We hiked all of the way to the top, and then went back to the car and got some lunch at the park.
We saw a bunch of animals today! We saw antelope, geese, ducks, elk, bison, and one lone wolf. Getting to see the wolf was so cool! I was the only one to spot it! The antelope were also really cool. They aren’t something that you see every day… so cool! With the elk, we saw a whole herd of them. There was also one with a tracking collar on it. That means that the park will be able to tell what the animals do during the winter.
The bison we saw today were super cool. They came right up to the truck! Koko started barking, and I got a picture of a bison snarling at her! It looked right at the camera as it did so. That was my best photo of the day! There was also a calf in the middle of the road with its mother. The calf wanted milk, but the mother tried to get it to move. It took about ten minutes for the pair to get across the road. Today, we saw three herds of bison. That was amazing to see. There were two fights, some bison, and some antelope. Sadly, I couldn’t get a video or photo. But, all in all, it was an amazing day, our last at Yellowstone. We finished it off with pepperoni pizza! (Yum!)
